Canny vs Featurebase in 2026, compared

Canny prices on tracked users; Featurebase per seat, with a help desk and live chat. Pricing, features and which one fits your team, checked and dated.

Feedovate team5 min read

Canny and Featurebase are weighed against each other all the time, but they’ve grown in different directions.

  • Canny is a feedback platform priced on tracked users, with AI that captures feature requests from sales calls, support conversations and review sites.
  • Featurebase now leads with AI support: a help desk, live chat and an AI agent, with feedback boards, a roadmap and a changelog alongside, priced per seat.

The short answer:

  • Choose Canny if feedback is the job and your user base is small or steady.
  • Choose Featurebase if you want support and feedback in one tool, or a free plan to start.
  • Look at Feedovate if you want feedback only, at a flat price that grows with neither. We make it, so it’s covered last and briefly.

Every fact below comes from each tool’s own website, and every price was read off its pricing page on November 3, 2026.

What Canny is

Canny calls itself an “AI-powered customer feedback platform”. Customers post and vote in a portal, your team tracks requests through a roadmap and announces them in a changelog. Its Autopilot goes further: it reads support conversations, sales calls and review sites, pulls out feature requests, merges duplicates and summarizes threads, logging every action so you can undo it. Since mid-2026, Canny Ideas groups what Autopilot finds into internal ideas and insights before you publish anything.

What Featurebase is

Featurebase started as a feedback board. Its homepage now leads with “AI support across every channel”: a help desk inbox, live chat, a help center and an AI agent that answers customers. Feedback boards, a roadmap and a changelog sit alongside, and Feedback 2.0, released in September 2026, uses AI to group raw feedback into requests linked to insights.

Pricing compared

Canny prices on tracked users: anyone who posts, votes or comments, plus people Autopilot logs.

Plan Price
Free $0, up to 25 tracked users
Pro From $79/month billed yearly ($99 monthly), 100 tracked users, rising with your count
Business Priced on request

Pass your tier and Canny upgrades you automatically, unless you set a spend limit, in which case it stops tracking new users.

Featurebase prices per seat, billed yearly, and bills usage on top.

Plan Price
Free $0, 1 seat and 1 board
Growth $29/seat/month
Professional $59/seat/month
Enterprise $99/seat/month

On top of seats: $0.49 per resolved AI conversation, metered outbound messages and translations, and $69 a month to remove Featurebase branding.

What a team actually pays. Because the two tools charge for different things, the cheaper one depends on your shape:

Scenario Canny Pro, yearly Featurebase Growth, yearly Feedovate
3 teammates, 100 customers giving feedback $79/month $87/month $39/month
5 teammates, 1,000 customers $529/month $145/month $79/month
10 teammates, 5,000 customers $1,079/month $290/month $79/month

Canny’s figures above 100 tracked users are from its price slider as recorded in August 2026 (our Canny pricing breakdown). Featurebase’s exclude AI resolutions and add-ons.

One team’s experience: updown.io wrote in February 2026 that Canny’s tracked-user pricing would have moved it from the free plan to $311 a month, and it built its own board instead (its post).

Features compared

Collecting feedback. Both give customers a portal to post and vote. Canny’s edge is Autopilot, which finds requests in conversations you already have. Featurebase collects feedback in-app and through its help desk, so a support conversation can become a request without leaving the tool.

Prioritizing. Featurebase shows the total revenue of the customers behind each request and sorts by revenue, impact, or value and effort. Canny ranks by votes and segments on Pro, and ties feedback to revenue through CRM integrations on Business.

Roadmap and changelog. Both have a public roadmap and a changelog that tells customers what shipped.

Integrations. Canny has one of the longest integration lists in the category, including Linear, Jira and Slack, with CRM integrations on Business, and an MCP server for AI agents. Featurebase connects Linear and Jira with status coming back, and Salesforce from Professional.

AI. Canny’s AI captures and organizes feedback. Featurebase’s AI answers customers as a support agent, billed per resolution, and groups feedback in Feedback 2.0.

Where Canny is stronger

  • Capturing feedback you’d otherwise miss, from calls, tickets and reviews.
  • A longer integration list.
  • A focused feedback product, without support features to pay for or learn.

Where Featurebase is stronger

  • Support and feedback in one tool, with an AI agent answering customers.
  • A price that doesn’t grow with your customers.
  • Revenue and value-and-effort sorting without an enterprise plan.

Which should you choose?

  • Small team, a few hundred customers, feedback only: either works; Canny’s free plan and Featurebase’s are both worth a try.
  • Thousands of customers giving feedback: Featurebase, or a flat-priced tool; Canny’s tracked-user tiers climb steeply.
  • You want to replace your help desk too: Featurebase.
  • You want AI to find requests in calls and tickets: Canny.

Where Feedovate fits

Feedovate is a third option for teams that want feedback only, at a flat price that grows with neither customers nor seats. Starter is $39 and Pro $79 a month, with unlimited end users. Requests are ranked by value and effort, and on Pro by the revenue of the customers asking, with two-way Linear and Jira sync. It has no free plan, no help desk and nothing to embed in your app yet. Compare it directly: Feedovate vs Canny and Feedovate vs Featurebase.
